Château ROQUE LE MAYNE - The vineyard

                         Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux

The vine parcels are spread over 15 hectares and have an average age of 30 years allowing us to craft Chateau Roque Le Mayne that is situated in the area of Saint Colombe on the clay and limestone hillsides. They have a south-facing exposure and with a perfect natural drainage.

The planted grape variety proportions are the following ; Merlot 80%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, Côt (Malbec) 5% with a plantation density of 5000 plants per hectare. We have traditional growing methods that incorporate the preservation of our environment.

After the pruning of January, the binding and folding of the canes, the de-budding and leaf thinning are undertaken each year with quality of the future wine as the objective.   Our yield is around 45 hl per hectare that permits us to obtain a perfect maturity and concentration.
